Welcome to the Community Impact Practicum Program

 

Thank you for your interest in partnering with SistaH of SurvivaL through the Community Impact Practicum Program. We provide meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, Board Members, Mentors, Volunteers, and future community leaders who are passionate about creating positive change.

Our practicum program offers real world experience within a growing nonprofit organization where participants contribute to community outreach, program development, research, advocacy, leadership, and organizational growth. Every placement is designed to strengthen professional skills while supporting trauma informed, community centered initiatives that promote healing, empowerment, and lasting impact.

​

Practicum placements are offered in Spring (January through May), Summer (May through August), and Fall (September through December). Each placement includes structured learning objectives, professional supervision, and hands on projects tailored to the participant's concentration and academic requirements.

​

PLEASE NOTE: Practicum opportunities are offered during select academic terms based on organizational capacity, supervision availability, and university partnership agreements.

🟢 Community Outreach & Resource Development

Build partnerships and connect SistaH of SurvivaL with community organizations, agencies, and resources. Assist with resource research, referral development, outreach, and identifying services that support women and families.

🟣 Trauma Informed Program Development

Support the development and enhancement of trauma informed programs, workshops, curriculum, and educational materials that align with the M.E.S.H.E. Framework and SistaH of SurvivaL's mission.

​

🔵 Research, Evaluation & Resource Development

Conduct research to support grant opportunities, program evaluation, community needs assessments, data collection, and outcome reporting that strengthens organizational growth and funding readiness.

​

🟠 Community Education & Prevention

Assist in creating educational campaigns, workshops, presentations, and awareness materials that promote prevention, healthy relationships, trauma awareness, and community empowerment.

​

❤️ Survivor Advocacy & Resource Navigation

Support survivor centered services by researching resources, assisting with referrals, developing resource guides, and helping strengthen access to community support systems through a trauma informed approach.

​

🟡 Leadership & Nonprofit Administration

Gain experience in nonprofit leadership by supporting strategic planning, board development, policy development, organizational operations, partnership building, and administrative initiatives.

​

🌎 Community Engagement & Communications

Strengthen community awareness through social media, website content, newsletters, storytelling, marketing campaigns, and public engagement that advances the mission of SistaH of SurvivaL.
